UPDATE: New version 2.0.1 released which comes with many new features and improvements. Check the homepage for more information.

"Hash Tool" is a small, free and portable tool created by AskVG reader "Shashi kumar Sinha" which helps you in calculating and verifying hash code of a file.

You just need to run the tool, drag-n-drop the file in its window or select the file using "Browse" button, click on "Calculate" button and the tool will immediately show its hash code information.

I think so, but not everyone uses web browsers to download. i frequently make use of wget in windows and linux, also, curl and axel. Also Linux isos suggest to check the md5 sul right after a download anyway. :iconpinkiepieplz:

Ok, but isn't hash checked on boot anyway, and can't You just use commands chain to check those in Linux? As for download managers, as I recall from GUI ones - like FDM - have this feature inbuilt.

that is true. I almost never use a hash checker myself, except for large downloads. some people just want the option of doing it there self.

I actually was looking for a simple app that does this, a long while ago. Thanks!
